John explains to the TV star that when she attends clay shooting she must expect to be tackling an endless variety of combinations of pairs of clays. Mainly she will encounter shooting stands that offer the challenges of targets thrown from two different traps, presenting targets at different heights, angles, distances, speeds and also including clays that are of varying sizes, types and colours.
John reassures Zoe that she will be able to cope with this challenge. He explains that as she was able to kill the going away targets and bolting rabbit targets when they were presented as singles – she will of course be able to succeed with them now as an 'On Report ' pair. This means that when you call 'Pull' the going away target is released and when you fire, the bolting rabbit target is released.
Before Zoe begins, John stresses the importance of the mental preparation, telling her she must focus her mind on approaching this pair of clays as two separate jobs by visualising two different kill pictures and two different pick up points.
Zoe settles herself down and loads two cartridges. She sets her feet with her weight well forward and calls 'Pull'. Bang! First clay killed! Bang! Second clay killed! Zoe is thrilled to succeed at her first attempt and John decides that she has earned a rest.
